3. Fault Finding
a) Unit fails to sound – replace batteries, ensure correct polarity. Always use “fresh batteries”. Do not use zinc air batteries (the ones with the small holes in the positive side).
b) Unit will not turn off – internal short circuit in wire, remove batteries and return the unit for repair.
c) Intermittent buzzing – faulty sensor or loose batteries, replace batteries; if it continues, return sensor for repair.

4. Guarantee
Under normal usage the Malem® bedwetting Alarm is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from purchase. If it should malfunction during this period Malem®/Medstat® will be pleased to either repair it, or, at our discretion, replace it with a new unit, free of charge. Please remove the batteries and decontaminate the unit/sensor before returning (see below).

5. Repairs and Reconditioning
If after 3 months your Malem® enuresis Alarm requires repairs we will be pleased to exchange it for a reconditioned one (repairs are not undertaken for hygiene reasons), or, at our discretion, replace the unit with a new one. Malem®/Medstat® make a charge for this service. Please contact us by telephoning or in writing for the cost of this service, or return for a quotation. Please decontaminate the unit and remove batteries before return.

6. Cleaning/Disinfecting
a) Bedwetting Alarm Unit: wipe clean using mild detergent and a damp cloth, and dry thoroughly. 
NEVER IMMERSE IN WATER.
b) Sensor: Rinse with detergent, such as Milton®, and dry thoroughly.
If the unit is to be reused by another client/patient, and disinfection is needed, then dip in bleach or Cidex® solution and rinse thoroughly, or use a 70% Isopropyl alcohol impregnated wipe, allowing to dry prior to re-use.
If total sensor replacement is preferred then unplug the sensor and replace with a new one or a clean one.

7. Electrical Safety
Designed to meet all construction and safety requirements. maximum current across the sensor is less than 10µA.
